Bangladesh, is a country in South Asia. with a population exceeding 163 million people, in an area of 147,570 square kilometres (56,980 sq mi), making it one of the most densely populated countries in the world.

Bangladesh shares land borders with India to the west, north, and east, Myanmar to the southeast, and the Bay of Bengal to the south. Dhaka, the capital and largest city, is the nation's economic, political, and cultural hub. Chittagong, the largest seaport is the second-largest city.

Bangladesh is also one of the world's fastest-growing economies and one of the fastest growing middle-income countries. Bangladesh's largest trading partners are the European Union, the United States, Japan, India, Australia, China and ASEAN. Major industries include textiles, pharmaceuticals, shipbuilding, steel, electronics, energy, construction materials, chemicals, ceramics, food processing, and leather goods.

In the middle of the densely populated city of Dhaka are two golf courses , Kurmitola Golf Club -18 holes and Army Golf Club -9 holes, where every day early birds flock even before the sun rises for a quick game of golf before rushing to attend to business activities. Weekends sees golfers in colourful dresses in groups spending most of the day on the course . The golf courses is visited by Diplomats from various Embassy, expats working in various industries , local businessman , expat businessman , local civilians, ex defence personals , serving defence personals, politicians , ladies and children .

In 2010 winters, one weekend , few golfers grouped together to play a golf tournament and then they met again in the evening for dinner and mooted the idea of forming a likeminded golfers group comprising people from the Diplomatic Community, Expats , Locals, Defence Personal and Businessman. That was Friday, 8th day of October, 2012 when Tiger Golf Club (TGC) was established. Initially TGC remained as an Association of Persons but subsequently it was incorporated as a Limited Company on 12th day of October, 2020.
